(my own fault as I did not pay attention) He would have preferred it without for some reason and he prefers the batteries to be out. Otherwise, it is larger than I expected which is OK and I think the sounds are cool along with the lights. The scoop lifts and lowers with a lever, and it drives forwards and backwards by touching buttons. It's a lot more fun (and bigger) than I expected. My 21 month old son loves it too. It hasn't really been tested in the sandbox yet, and after a few weeks you had to push the lever twice to make the scoop go all the way up. But it's still a lot of fun and both my boys still love playing with it. Rating: 4 / 5 I got this for my son’s 6th birthday and he loves it. Now the bucket won't raise and lower anymore. This toy is very poorly made and is obviously not for children of any age. Not sure it would even last with an adult playing with it.
